Thanks to some trademark news, the terms “Puffco Portal” will soon be in your vape-vocabulary.
Always on the forefront of portable vaporizer technology Puffco recently filed some hype-inducing trademarks for what looks to be a triple-use portable vaporizers. Constantly on the front-foot of vaporizer technology, these filings should have dry herb, concentrate, and e-juice users getting excited for whatever Puffco has up their sleeves.
The Puffco Pro 2 was one of the earliest vape pens to be considered "elite"
Historically Puffco *always* brings it with their technology, from the early days of the Puffco Pro 2 to the current reign of the Peak electric dab rig, this company knows how to make portable vaping easy and enjoyable. Dry herb users should be excited to read what Puffco patented since they’ve been out of the dry material vaping game recently, and with their slew of popular concentrate models it wouldn’t be surprising if they were able to produce a well-vaping dry herb option.
We’re going to breakdown just exactly what Puffco filed for below and try and speculate on what the Puffco Portal could be like, let’s dive in!
What We Know About The Puffco Portal
According to the public filings on December 2, 2019, Puffco is trademarking the word mark “Portal” for “electrically-powered oral vaporizers for vaporizing dry herbs, oils, concentrates, and other chemical flavorings for personal inhalation.”
This first line of the filing tells us that the device could be used for all 3 kinds of vapeable materials, which would be a first for Puffco. Triple use vaporizers are semi-popular right now; models like the Yocan Trio offer you the ability to vape dry herb, concentrate, and e-juice through a pod system, leading us to speculate the Puffco Portal would have the same setup.
The Yocan Trio is one of the most compact triple-use vaporizers, will the Portal be as portable?
It will be interesting to see how Puffco deals with the “triple use” oven, it can be difficult to get each material to vaporize efficiently given their different consistencies but something tells us Puffco will get it right.
How Will You Use the Puffco Portal?
The question that comes up immediately with tri-use vaporizers is “how will I use it?”
Further down in the filing there are allusions to “cartridges sold empty for electrically-powered oral vaporizers for vaporizing dry herbs, oils, concentrates and other chemical flavorings for personal inhalation” and “cartridges sold filled with chemical flavorings in liquid form”.
From this wording it could be expected that the Puffco Portal will have a similar system to the Ghost MV1’s “crucible” idea, which lets you load up ceramic pods with your favorite material pre-session.
Perhaps the Portal will feature a similar door-and-pod system as the Ghost MV1?
It was interesting to note the “filled with chemical flavorings in liquid form” as that signals Puffco could be starting to sell pre-filled e-juice/liquid cartridges specially made for the Puffco Portal vaporizer. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone as having proprietary systems is a fantastic way for to ensure material is vaped perfectly with your device each time.
Simplicity has been a pillar of Puffco’s success, so the Portal vaporizer probably won’t require a secondary degree to understand how to use it. Whatever system Puffco cooks up will be intuitive, efficient, and maybe even a little fun to use.
